About Vidyut

Vidyut (Paclobutrazol 40% SC w/w) by Sumitomo Chemical India Ltd. is a systemic plant growth regulator that inhibits gibberellin biosynthesis, acting as a nutrient channelizer to help the crop make more effective use of nutrients available from fertilizers. It effectively improves branching and induces flowering in crops such as pigeon pea (red gram) and soybean, supporting better development of fruits, branches, and flowers. By promoting a bushy plant shape with thicker, healthier stems and reducing internodal distance, Vidyut channels the plant’s energy toward flowering and fruit development, improving fruit colour, size, and overall yield. It is applied as a foliar spray at the flowering initiation stage using a knapsack sprayer, in recommended crops.

Vidyut Technical Name

Paclobutrazol 40% SC w/w

Mode of Action: Paclobutrazol’s principal mode of action is the inhibition of gibberellin biosynthesis. As a systemic plant growth regulator, it helps the crop channel nutrients from fertilizers more effectively toward branching, flowering, and fruit development, rather than excess vegetative growth.

Time of Application: Flowering Initiation Stage.

Key Features & Benefits
